High number of road accidents

There were more that 50 crashes this past week and Bermuda Police service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and use care, caution and courtesy on the Island's roads.

During the past week there were 27 reported injury collisions, 29 damage-only collisions, four arrests on suspicion of impaired driving, and 19 vehicles taken without their owner's consent.

The highest number of vehicles reported stolen was in Pembroke where 13 were stolen. There were two vehicles stolen in Warwick and one stolen each in St. George's, Smith's, Paget and Sandys parishes.

The majority of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with two cars and one van also stolen during the period. Of the 19 vehicles reported stolen five were subsequently recovered.
