Police warn as road accidents remain high

A total of 24 car accidents left people injured during the week beginning August 18.The latest statistic prompted the Police to reiterate a call for people to use care and caution on the roads.In addition to those accidents, there were a further 45 collisions where only the vehicles suffered damage.

The latest statistic prompted the Police to reiterate a call for people to use care and caution on the roads.

In addition to those accidents, there were a further 45 collisions where only the vehicles suffered damage.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving over the same period and 16 vehicles were stolen. The majority were auxiliary cycles and motorcycles, but there were also two cars taken.

A total of three vehicles have since been recovered, including one of the cars.
