Trial tomorrow for man charged with Wheddon death

The trial of a man charged with killing Bermuda Regiment officer Christian Wheddon in a UK traffic collision takes place tomorrow in Oxford Crown Court.Major Wheddon, 43, was a passenger in a Mitsubishi Warrior that crashed along the A34 in Oxfordshire last September.The driver, Netani Kepa was injured in the accident and charged with causing death by dangerous driving following an investigation.Maj Wheddon, a former police officer, joined the Bermuda Regiment in 1987 and was being groomed to take over as the Commanding Officer. At the time of his death he had been in the UK for three months taking part in military training exercises with the British Army.
