Two injured after car hits wall

Two people are recovering in hospital after the car they were in hit a wall in Pembroke.The 56-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following Saturday’s accident, which occurred on North Street near the junction with Court Street around 3.40pm.A Police spokesman said: “It appears that a car was being driven through the area when it collided with a wall. The driver, a 56-year-old Pembroke man, as well as the front seat passenger, a 35-year-old St George’s woman, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.“At last check both were recovering on a general ward. There were no other injuries reported. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front-end damage. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.”
