Jail for man caught with $40,000 cannabis on BA flight

A father-of-four has been jailed for five years for importing $40,000 worth of cannabis into Bermuda.Lincoln Christopher, 40, from St George's, brought the drugs in through LF Wade International Airport.He pleaded guilty in November and was bailed pending the completion of a substance abuse report.Around 2lbs of drugs were found in his bag when he came to Bermuda on February 11 on the British Airways flight from London. He'd previously been staying in Jamaica.Christopher told a previous court hearing that he's an alcoholic. He also has a string of previous convictions dating back to 1985 including burglary and heroin importation.He was jailed by Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons yesterday morning.
