A fire that ignited in an industrial clothes dryer on Wednesday night is believed to have been caused by greasy residue on linens.
The Bermuda Fire Department responded to the Pink Beach Club at 9.14 p.m. to find that a staff member had already been able to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Reportedly, staff had been cleaning stoves.
Fire personnel verified, upon close inspection, that greasy residue on the linen had caught fire while spinning in the dryer.
Fire personnel used a smoke extractor to clear the smoke-filled laundry room. The dryer was valued at $750.
The entire incident was handled in less than half an hour.
