At 6.04 a.m., a fire was reported at Woodlands School on Mount Hill and three vehicles and seven personnel from Hamilton Fire Station responded.

The fire was quickly extinguished and it was determined that it had been fuelled by trash and old clothing.

An emergency vehicle and four personnel were called out to a second fire at an Emily's Bay Lane residence at 3.23 p.m. after a pot was left on a stove and caused a small blaze, which was quickly extinguished.

In both calls, no injuries or damage to property occurred and both fires were said to be accidental.
