Gang assault man, steal silver chain
Football Club bar in Warwick this week. They made off with a silver chain.
Police are investigating the robbery which occurred around 1.45 a.m. in the club when the victim approached one of the suspects over a personal matter.
An argument began and the gang jumped in, assaulting the man. He left the club and telephoned the Police. Western CID are investigating.
PEMBROKES MAN, 34, VICTIM OF CASH SNATCH CRM Pembroke man, 34, victim of cash snatch A thief grabbed cash from a man's hand and made off.
The 34-year-old Pembroke victim was near the junction of Happy Valley Road and Cherry Hill, Pembroke, when the thief, whom he knew, approached him and asked for money.
The victim took out some cash, but the suspect grabbed it all and ran. Police are making inquiries, and anyone with information should call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1(800) 623-8477.
HOSPITAL STAFF PUT OUR COFFEE SHOP BLAZE FIR HOS Hospital staff put out coffee shop blaze A small blaze in the coffee shop at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital was quickly extinguished by staff.
The Bermuda Fire Service was alerted to incident at 11.18 a.m. on Thursday after some oil caught fire on a stove. The Fire Service said that on arrival they found that staff had managed to put out the flames by throwing a fire blanket on top of them.
MAN, 37, TREATED IN HOSPITAL FOLLOWING ASSAULT CRM Man, 37, treated in hospital following assault A Sandys man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after being assaulted in Woody's Drive on Wednesday night.
The 37-year-old man told Police that he had been involved in an argument with his alleged attacker shortly after 10 p.m. but the suspect left the area.
The suspect later returned and struck him on the arm and side of the face. The victim was unsure if a weapon had been used.
He was treated for a bad cut on his top lip and a possible fracture to his right arm.
In an unrelated matter a 42-year-old Sandys man was asked to attend Somerset Police Station after a concerned mother reported to Police that her ten-year-old daughter had been verbally accosted by him in a sexual manner.
Her daughter had been riding her bike, in Sandys, on Wednesday when the incident occurred.
Police are investigating.
CASH STOLEN FROM TWO SOUTHAMPTON SCHOOLS CRM Cash stolen from two Southampton schools Police are probing four break-ins, two of them apparently related.
Western CID are checking for evidence left by thieves who took cash from classrooms at the neighbouring Southampton Glebe and Southampton Pre-School in Port Royal, Southampton.
In both cases the culprit or culprits used force to enter the buildings.
Several windows at Southampton Glebe were also smashed.
Meanwhile, a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower and a full fuel container were stolen from a Mid-Ocean Drive, Hamilton Parish property last Saturday.
The machine and fuel were being kept near a shed and were not secured.
And a wallet was removed from a Smuggler's Reef employee's purse on Monday morning. The employee reported to Police she had left the purse on a shelf and had later been alerted by a colleague who found its contents on the shelf around 1.30 p.m.
The burgundy wallet contained an undisclosed amount of cash, a charge card, and identification.
BUSINESSES TOLD TO BEWARE COUNTERFEIT BILLS CRM Businesses told to beware counterfeit bills Police are urging businesses to continue looking out for counterfeit bills.
So far they have collected $350 in counterfeit $100 Bermudian notes that have been passed through businesses throughout the island.
They have also gathered a small amount of American and Bermudian bills of mixed denominations.
Police have also arrested a man in connection with a car stereo theft from a Cottage Hill Lane, Hamilton Parish shop.
The theft was said to have happened between Monday and Wednesday of this week.
The 32-year-old Hamilton Parish man was arrested and is being detained at St.
George's Police Station pending further inquiries.
STEREO, CD WALKMAN TAKEN FROM PROPERTY CRM Stereo, CD Walkman taken from property A Smith's woman had her stereo and a CD Walkman taken from her home sometime this week.
The Lolly's Lane home was entered through an unlocked window.
In an unrelated incident a man staying at a Southampton hotel awoke to find a thief in his room.
Shortly before 5 a.m. the man awoke and found the suspect attempting to leave the room with a pouch containing a large amount of cash.
He grabbed the thief and during a brief struggle the pouch was dropped along with a flashlight.
The thief escaped.
Police are investigating.
SNEAK THIEF SNATCHES WALLET FROM SANDYS HOME CRM Sneak thief snatches wallet from Sandys home A wallet was stolen from a residence on East Shore Road, Sandys on Monday morning. The resident reported the item missing from a downstairs table, after spotting a young male walking away from her garden.
A 38-year-old Pembroke man was arrested after a break-in at Bo's Lawn Equipment on Middle Road, Warwick.
Police arrived at the site on Tuesday night to find cartons of cigarettes missing. Later that night a man was arrested in possession of items matching those from the raid. Inquiries are continuing.
