Heavy lift vessel brings in steel

The Somers Isles arrived from Florida on Sunday with 88 containers, including six refrigerated containers. She was also carrying two trucks, a pleasure craft, 109 bundles of lumber and six bundles of pipes.

She sailed from Hamilton on Monday morning, headed back to Florida.

The Zenith arrived in Hamilton from New York on Monday morning with 1,375 passengers. She will sail to St. George's this morning and return to New York tomorrow afternoon.

A heavy lift vessel, the Birthe Boye also arrived on Monday from Rotterdam with a consignment of steel for Bermuda Electric Light Company's ongoing construction project. She will depart in a couple of days when the steel has been discharged.

Meanwhile in St. George's, cruise ship Norwegian Crown came alongside at Penno's Wharf. She shifted to Hamilton yesterday morning and will sail for New York tomorrow afternoon.

Celebrity Cruise Line's Horizon arrived on Tuesday morning at King's Wharf in Dockyard with 1,384 passengers aboard. The ship will move to Hamilton tomorrow afternoon after the Norwegian Crown departs and will return to New York on Friday afternoon.

The Norwegian Majesty is berthed at Ordnance Island in St. George's after arriving from Boston on Tuesday. She has 1,306 people on board and is the dedicated cruise ship for St. George's. She departs for her home port in Boston on Friday.

Tomorrow, the container ship Bermuda Islander arrives from Salem, New Jersey with 120 containers, including 19 refrigerated containers and will sail back to New Jersey on Friday morning.

The Iver Explorer , a tanker, will also come in tomorrow morning to discharge fuel at the Esso oil docks at Ferry Reach whilst the Talitha G , a motor yacht, will take on bunkers at Penno's Wharf.

Container Ship Management's vessel the Oleander arrived May 9 from New Jersey and departed yesterday. She discharged 32 refrigerated containers, 137 dry containers, 11 trailers of structural steel, five buses, one boat, one tractor, one trailer and two jet skiis.

A ferry Pegasus 1 and cruise ship Royal Viking Sun will arrive at Dockyard today.
