death of a man at Devonshire Recreation Club last Friday.

Aaron G. Johnston, of Warwick Park, was charged with attempting to cause the death of 24-year-old Frederick Richardson, unlawfully wounding him, and possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knife.

Johnston was not required to enter a plea.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis granted bail in the sum of $2,000 with a like surety. He also told Johnston to have no contact with the complainant and ordered him to report to Hamilton Police Station every Wednesday.

VISITOR ROBBED AT GUEST APARTMENTS CTS Visitor robbed at guest apartments A 68-year-old female visitor was robbed early yesterday morning at the Clear View Guest Apartments in Hamilton Parish.

The woman was in bed when two masked men smashed through the sliding glass doors of her apartment, held a knife to her throat and demanded money.

"The offenders then grabbed her suitcase and purse and fled from the scene,'' said a Police spokesman.

The victim was not physically injured but was extremely distraught as a result of the incident.

FATHER SUFFERS CUT EYE IN FIGHT CRM Father suffers cut eye in fight A 42-year-old Pembroke man was taken to hospital on Monday evening after sustaining an eye injury during an altercation.

Police said the man was hit in the face by his daughter's boyfriend after the girl and her father were involved in an altercation.

"The bespectacled man was punched in his face causing his glasses to shatter.

He sustained severe lacerations around the eye and was detained in hospital for treatment,'' a Police spokesman said.

Organisers began collecting items at Lindo's supermarket in Devonshire on Monday afternoon.

By 4.30 p.m. yesterday, Mrs. Singleton said, the container was full and ready to be shipped to Bosnia.

"They (organisers) did not even advertise,'' she said. "It could not have been done without the support of the media.'' SICK CREWMAN GOES TO HOSPITAL AC Sick crewman goes to hospital A Polish crewman, who accidentally inhaled toxic fumes, was put ashore on the Island last night for urgent medical attention.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said the sailor from the 640-foot Polish bulk carrier Stanislaw Kulczynski was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

He said the accident occurred while the ship was en route to Casablanca, Morocco, from Charleston, South Carolina, with a cargo of wheat. The sailor apparently became sick when he inhaled gases used to fumigate the cargo.

The ship, which was 60 miles to the northeast of the Island, diverted and entered Five Fathom Hole where the pilot boat St. George collected the injured man.
