US Consulate issues reminder on absentee voting

Americans voting in the November election have until October 24 to submit their ballots to the Consulate.

And the Consulate is urging all Americans "to make their vote count" by taking the opportunity to submit their absentee ballots for express courier to the United States.

All ballots can be dropped at the Middle Road, Devonshire Consulate between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on weekdays up to and including October 24. Once they are all received the ballots will be bundled and mailed by express courier to the State Department in Washington, D.C.

There, they will be opened and put into the US Postal Service System and expedited as election mail.

All ballots must be appropriately addressed to local election officials and must be postage-paid or have U.S. first-class postage affixed.

Most ballot envelopes should already be postage-paid.
