concert in St. David's, Magistrates Court heard yesterday.

Lindley Paul Scott claimed the attack took place on May 15 during the concert at Clearwater Beach.

Mr. Scott, of Wreck View Hill, Devonshire, said he was working the door but went backstage to get some food, when the confrontation began.

He said there had been a previous incident between himself and Perry Mosley Puckering a month previously and that on May 15 Puckering was "in his face'' arguing.

He claimed Puckering had something in his hand -- but did not know if it was a knife -- and that a girl pulled the defendant back.

But Puckering lunged at him and Mr. Scott said he headbutted him to defend himself.

"After that he ran off and started throwing bottles. Then about 25 guys, probably more, started rushing me and so we moved off,'' said Mr. Scott.

"Puckering and 30 of his other friends lunged at me with a knife. As I blocked it, I got my right hand cut. I turned, I could not believe what happened.'' He said the woman warned him again to watch his back, then he was stabbed in the lower left abdomen by Puckering.

"There was a lot of confusion. I was still trying to get towards the light.

That's when (the woman) again told me to watch.

"That's when I got cut across the left cheek by Puckering with a knife.'' Mr. Scott said he was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and later released after he was treated for his wounds.

Puckering, 44, of Footbridge Lane, Pembroke, denies unlawfully wounding Mr.

Scott and Gavin O'Connor, possession of a knife, and throwing beer bottles at Mr. Scott.

Eusi Camani Wainwright, 29, of St. John's Lane, Pembroke, denies the same charges and a separate charge of assaulting Mr. O'Connor.

The trial before Magistrate Edward King was adjourned until Friday.
