`Bottom line' magazine is distributed
currently available free of charge in stores throughout the Island.
The 88-page, colour magazine, which is published by The Royal Gazette Ltd., contains sections on tourism, international business, employment and finance.
Mr. David L. White, the product's editor-in-chief, said: "The magazine is designed to help people better understand how the economy works, what the problems are and how they can be overcome.
"It has been brought out as a public service and we hope it will be read carefully by anyone who has an interest in the economy.
"We produced the first The Bottom Line last year and have taken it a step further this year by putting in more resources.'' There are 18 feature-length stories, including items on the possibility of Bermuda ever allowing casinos and a national lottery, the feasibility of a national airline, employment issues, new industries, captive insurance, balance of payments, labour relations, and the threat of the US Naval Air Station pulling out of the Island.
All the articles were written by journalists Mr. David Marchant and Miss Robin McPhee, who comprise the business section of The Royal Gazette newspaper. A total of 7,500 copies are being distributed.
