Bruno Frias, 18, of Random Lane had already been disqualified from driving for 12 months on October 25 when he was stopped by Police on Collector's Hill, Smith's Parish on November 13.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said Frias told the officers that he was driving while disqualified when he was arrested.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. William Francis warned Frias that if he kept driving while disqualified he would end up going to prison.

SEARCH TURNS UP CANNABIS CTS Search turns up cannabis A Devonshire man whose boat was searched off the Island was yesterday fined $350 after he pleaded guilty to possessing less than one gram of cannabis.

Leon Antoine Place, 29, of Tribe Road Number Seven was found in possession of 0.2 grams of the controlled drug on August 29 when Marine Police and narcotics officers boarded his boat near North Rock Beacon.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said in in Magistrates' Court yesterday that the officers were acting on information they had received when they searched Place's boat. They found a black film canister containing paste, a homemade cigarette and a brown paper twist containing plant material.

All the items discovered were found to contain a total of 0.2 grams of cannabis when they were examined later.

Place told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that he had nothing to say before he was fined $350.

MAN JAILED FOR BOTTLED ATTACKS CTS Man jailed for bottle attacks A Pembroke man was sentenced to nine months imprisonment in Magistrates' Court this week after he pleaded guilty to cutting the faces of two separate men with a broken bottle.

George Joell, 39, of Orchard Grove admitted causing unlawful grievous bodily harm to Edwin Simmons and Joseph Lima on June 1 after the three men had been drinking together on Front Street.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said Joell left the two men after drinking with them but returned later to get another drink from Simmons' cooler.

He said Simmons refused to give Joell a drink so an argument broke out and Joell took a bottle, broke it and cut Simmons three times in the face.

Insp. Duffy said Lima tried to break up the fight but was also cut three times including one cut which severed his ear.

Magistrate Edward King jailed Joell for nine months.

The accident happened around 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday on the North Shore Road near Shelly Bay Plaza.

The victim, who was riding a cycle, was travelling west when a Ford Laser collided with his cycle while making a right turn.

WONAN ATTACKED CRM Woman attacked Police are investigating an attack on a 21-year-old Southampton woman.

The woman was allegedly slashed across her arm by her boyfriend after an argument at a Horseshoe Road, Southampton residence at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The woman required stitches at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to close the wound.
