Defending league champions North Village Rams recorded the biggest win during the last round of Women’s Futsal League action to keep pace with leaders PHC Zebras.Rams thumped lowly Young Men’s Social Club 16-1 to remain level on points with Zebras who they trail on goal difference.Kyla Ramatar led the Rams’ goalfeast with six goals, Leilanni Nesbeth, Symira Lowe and Whitnae Duerr both netted braces while Zakiyah Durham, Jadae Steede-Hill, Teiyah Durham and Leanne Tayes all scored one each.Social Club replied through Sher-Kyra Outerbridge.Zebras also had things all their own way in a comfortable 9-0 victory over bottom side Hamilton Parish.PHC led 5-0 at the half and never looked back.Micah Pond topped the Zebras scoring with five goals while Taznae Fubler and Chyna Young both netted twice.Parish are the only side in the seven-team league yet to win a match this season.Last Saturday’s remaining match at Dellwood Middle School Gym saw third-placed Somerset Trojans edge fourth-placed Dandy Stars Gold 5-4.Trojans led 5-2 at the break but were forced to sweat it out for the win as their rivals staged a courageous second-half fightback that ultimately fell just short.Eva Frazzoni and Sierra Fisher both bagged braces for Trojans while Deshae Darrell also got her name on the scoresheet.Frazzoni is the league’s current leading goal scorer with 21 goals so far.Dandy Stars Gold, who were a completely different beast in the second half, replied through a Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil brace and sole tallies from Rayni Maybury and Atiya Symonds.Dandy Stars Brown had a bye.Women’s Futsal League action continues this Saturday at Dellwood Middle School Gym.
