Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Brown of Cleveland, Ohio and formerly of Boaz Island, are pleased to annoince the engagement of their daughter Shakeela Tayma Karon Smith to Randolph Cardell Carter, of Middle Road, Southampton.

Mr. Carter is the son of the late Debra Rosemarie Wellman and Mr. Randolph Carter Sr.

He proposed to Miss Smith over the Christmas holidays while visiting the Browns. No date has been set for the wedding.

Miss Smith is pursuing a degree in graphic art design at Cleveland State University in Cleveland.
