Breaking News: Three face charges stemming from RAA shooting

Three men appeared in Magistrates’ Court today on charges stemming from the Easter morning shooting at the Royal Artillery Association (RAA) club in St. George’s.

Dwayne Signor, 29, of St. George’s and Jason Barnett, 17, are alleged to have been involved in the altercation, which left one man in hospital with gun shot wounds and another badly beaten.

Khyri Smith-Williams was also in court, charged with possessing a firearm at the same party.

Signor was accused of attempting to cause the death of Shawn Williams, shooting Shawn Williams with a loaded gun, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition in the form of a nine millimetre shell casing. Barnett is accused of taking part in the altercation.

Smith-Williams, 19, of Sandys, is accused of possessing a prohibited weapon in the form of a firearm and going armed to a public place with the intention of causing terror.

None of the men was asked to submit a plea, as the offences are indictable. Smith-Williams and Signor were both remanded in custody until their next court appearance on April 26. Barnett was granted $2,000 bail.
