After playing in five losing finals Dill finally experienced the feeling of holding the trophy that had long eluded his team. Not even a blow to the face by the ball in the first half, which momentarily stunned him, or a slight hamstring injury would spoil his happiest day of the season.

"Right now I just feel so good to put that jinx behind us, '' Dill said before receiving the trophy. "It's all about hard work.'' Full-back Shawn Simmons, one of the unsung heroes of the Zebras in their three-title winning season, got praise from his captain for his performance as he paved the way for Sheridan Ming's opener.

"In the last game up here against Rangers he showed that he can play up here,'' Dill said. "Today he just carried on and he played well. I thought Baldy (Ming) had a good game while Blake and Shawn did well. "After they got their goal they brought the match to us but the second goal really separated the two teams.'' Coach Alfie Eve finished a winner in his last match as PHC coach and went out on a winning note just like Leroy (Nibs) Lewis did before him two seasons ago.

"I feel more happy for the fellas, they are the ones who deserve it,'' Eve said.

PHC finally had luck on their side on Sunday as Kyle Lightbourne's 73rd-minute penalty clinched their first FA Cup triumph since 1980.

"We scored the penalty to win the match and those are the things that happen,'' added Eve. "I always tell my players what goes around comes around.'' Said Town coach Robert Calderon: "Up until the penalty it was a good game. It was one of those decisions where most referees would not make that call in an FA Cup game. It's too hard to have to lose that way. It was one of the more dubious calls.

"The penalty took a lot out of me, so I expect it also did so to the players.

If we had won the FA Cup it (the season) would have been a major success, but losing it I can't really say that it has been.'' Calderon admitted his team was "very lethargic in the first half''. He added: "We needed to start with a bit more urgency.'' Captain Voorhees Astwood said the conditions made it difficult to play fluent soccer. "The conditions, with the strong wind, made it hard initially but after we got used to it we began to flow,'' he said.

"The penalty was definitely the turning point. I feel it was an unfair call.

Up until the penalty we had a slight edge but the penalty gave them (PHC) more drive.

"This was a fair season and we did well to get to the final. I feel good about next year with Paul and Neil returning from school.'' BAA Wanderers captured the triple-crown title on Saturday as a result of their 2-0 victory over Robin Hood in the Commercial Division Group A Cup final at PHC Stadium.

Striker Tony Lambert did the damage to Robin Hood by slamming home both goals.

The other championship titles, which the Wanderers have collected this season are the League and the Knockout Cup.

Saturday's Group B Cup final saw the Somerset Extros defeat KPMG 3-0 on second-half goals by Dwaine Richardson, Donnie Simmons and Jerry-Lynn Simons.
