Experts attend child protection conference

Representatives from the Coalition for the Protection of Children and Child and Family Services attended a conference last week to launch the Child Protection Programme for the British Overseas Territories.

The two-day workshop/conference was held in the Turks and Caicos and was implemented in association with the FCO and managed by the Children?s Home Reform Project ? one of the UK?s largest children?s charities.

The agenda included discussions on the programme strategy and framework, the status of child protection services within the Caribbean, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the challenges facing law enforcement.
