The Crown yesterday attempted grilled cricket star Dean Minors on intricate details of his trip to Florida.

Under cross examination by Crown counsel Vinnette Graham-Allen, Minors detailed a late night pick up of a box containing nine pounds of cannabis he alleges came from his friend and fellow cricketer Greg Foggo.

Minors, 32, has denied charges of importation with intent to supply cannabis on January 1, 2001.

He was arrested after coming into the Island with a box containing four wooden dresser drawer panels stuffed with ten bags of cannabis.

Minors previously testified he had no knowledge the box contained the drugs, saying the box belonged to Mr. Foggo and he was bringing it back as a favour for his friend.

The seven woman, five man jury heard Foggo was in Orlando, Florida at the same time as Minors.

Minors said he arranged to meet Mr. Foggo in the parking lot of a convenience store at 11 p.m on December 29, 2000.

Minors said he was staying at his girlfriend's house in Orlando and said he asked Mr. Foggo to bring the box to her house.

But he said Mr. Foggo preferred to meet at a more convenient location.

"I went inside Mr. Foggo's car and we had a conversation," Minors said. "We talked about my vacation and my girlfriend's family. The box was in the trunk of his car. I drove up beside his car and he helped me put the box in the back of my jeep."

Ms Graham-Allen asked: "Did you ask what was in the box?"

"No, I didn't ask him," Mr. Minors replied.

Ms Graham-Allen questioned the time line of Minors' travels while he was in Florida, pointing out that he also travelled to states outside of Florida.

She suggested that his travels took him near Alabama - the state where the box was purchased.

"Yes, I went to Atlanta, Georgia," Minors said.

"Is Alabama next to Atlanta?" Ms Graham Allen asked.

"I don't know," Minors replied.

The case continues Monday, with Minors still under cross examination.
