Family fun day at Victoria Park
Families are being encouraged to bond this weekend over face painting, games and crafts and dance performances at a free fun day.
The event, which takes place on Saturday at Victoria Park, is being organised by Families First, an outreach of the The Childcare Placement Board of the Ministry of Health and Family Services.
The A.M. E. Liturgical Dancers, the Bermuda Cadet Corps, PRIDE, Bermuda Youth Jazz Ensemble and the Gombeys are expected to perform. A highlight of the afternoon will be a surprise presentation to 28 children who submitted entries on the subject ?My Family? in the Families First poetry competition.
Health Minister Patrice Minors will make opening remarks. The family day will run from 12 noon to 4.30 p.m. and the only requirement is that children be accompanied by their parents so they can take part in the activities together.
The Scout Association, the Boys Brigade, and the Family Centre will offer fun activities for children and parents and provide additional information about their organisations to interested persons.
