Bermudian insurance executive Jahan Cedenio is one of three recipients of the 2020 Professional Liability Underwriting Society Emerging Leader Award.

Mr Cedenio is an assistant vice-president in the financial and professional risk department at Bowring Marsh (Bermuda), the international placement specialist of Marsh.

The annual award recognises young professional liability insurance professionals who exhibit the attributes and ability to become future leaders in their organisations and the industry at large, the company said.

Twenty-six candidates representing both carriers and brokers across North America were nominated, with three ultimately receiving the honour. More than 7,000 PLUS members participated in the voting process.

Mr Cedenio joined Bowring Marsh in 2014 as an associate broker in the FINPRO risk department. He was promoted to assistant vice-president in 2019.

He is an alumnus of the PLUS leadership and mentoring programme, and for the past two years has served on its diversity and inclusion committee.

Mr Cedenio was recently elected to the PLUS Foundation board of directors. He received the award during the 2020 PLUS Virtual Conference.

The organisation’s annual conference brings together more than 3,000 industry professionals from across the world.
