Cycling marathon raises more than $s6,000 for charity

Cyclists from the Altree Financial Bicycle Works team have raised a staggering $6,053 after riding more than 1,000 miles to help an orphanage in Haiti supported by the Bermuda registered charity, Feed My Lamb Ministries.

Under clear skies, low humidity and little wind the team began at 6.00 in the morning and finished around noon.

The target for each rider was a distance of 100 miles which most reached in around five hours and 16 minutes, averaging 19mph.

Team sponsor, Chris Harkness from the Altree Financial Group, who completed the ride said that he was "immensely proud of the efforts of the team riders", noting the charitable event was in line with his company's commitment to support worthy causes.
