The race is a fund raiser for the St.John Ambulance Brigade. The Brigade have always assisted the running community by providing first aid services and this race is an opportunity to give something back to the Brigade, race director Steve Conway said.

The race starts -- and finishes -- at Victoria Park in Hamilton.

The first 125 runners across the line will receive a race T-shirt and there will be a grand draw prize of a colour TV. Other prizes will be drawn.

Entry fee is $10 for Athletic Club and Mid Ocean Athletic Club members, $12 for all other adults and $5 for juniors. Entry forms are available at The Athletic Club, Sportseller, and the Pro Shop. Deadline is 5 p.m Friday; deadline for late entries is 8:45 a.m. on race day -- at an increased fee.

SQUASH SQU Bermuda's female squash team fought off challenges from their male rivals to take the Division B trophy at the Commercial Risk Inter Schools Squash Team Championships.

National squad members Kristan Law, Anna Forbes and Jessica Mitchell, all from BHS, defeated the Saltus juniors to take the title at the Devonshire Courts last weekend.

The trio were leading the competition heading into the deciding game against Saltus but Andrew Stout levelled the score with a 21-16 win over Law. Forbes then beat Iain Redford 21-18 and Mitchell defeated Chris Collette 21-9 in the clincher.

Saltus' Kieran Bradshaw, T.J. Clark and Francesca Bortoli soared to a 12-point victory in Division A over Saltus Shell (James Stout, Simon Haworth and Jordan Monkman).

Saltus Junior School dominated Division C in a ten-team knockout draw. Andrew Osbourne, Redford and Simon Bergl narrowly defeated Moritz Weber, Chris Sgobba and Laura Robinson in the final.

Four new teams from Saltus Cavendish took part in Division D. Andrew Hook, James Adams and Bradley Mitchell emerged as group winners, beating Michael Jones, James Fletcher and Nicholas Jones in the final.
