Bermuda Stock Exchange Index falls as bank shares drop

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index last week fell 6.617 points to close at 3,289.24.The greatest activity on the BSX came from investors buying and selling Bank of Butterfield shares with 29,167 bank shares being traded. The Bank's shares fell 25 cents to $44.40.

Bermuda Commercial Bank shares were pushed down 50 cents to $11.50 on trading of 100 shares.

Masters Limited shares jumped by $2 to $11 while 900 shares were bought and sold.

In the insurance sector, 3,251 Argus shares traded while gaining 55 cents to close at $24.95.

BF&M also gained with their shares moving up 25 cents to $15.75 while 1,625 shares moved.

Stevedoring Services saw their shares gain $1, closing at $9 on trading of 500 shares.

Belco Holdings saw significant trading of their shares with investors buying and selling 6,117 shares while pushing down the share price 50 cents to $41.50.

KeyTech - the parent company of BTC, Mobility and Logic Communications - investors traded 300 of the telecom company's shares, while the share price gained $1 to close at $15.

LOM Holdings shares saw no price change - remaining at $3.75 - with trading of 2,000 shares.
