BSX falls in heavy trading
It was an active day of trading on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday with the BSX losing 18.44 points to close at 3,163.08.
Financial sector stocks moved down, and jumps in some smaller companies' stocks were not enough to offset the decline.
Butterfield Bank saw 11,485 shares trade with the price dropping 25 cents to $40.50.
Insurance stocks declined, with Argus Insurance Co. Ltd falling 45 cents to $25 on volume of 5,253 shares. BF&M saw 2,300 shares move with the price dropping 25 cents to $12.75.
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. ? the parent company of The Royal Gazette - recorded 200 shares trading with the price dropping 50 cents to $12 while Belco shares fell five cents to $41.80 on volume of 1,500 shares.
However, Bermuda Bakery Ltd. shares soared $5 or 12.5 percent to $45 on volume of 100 shares while Bermuda Aviation Services shares, which announced on Friday it was taking a majority stake in IBC, rose $1 to $9 when investors traded 1,750 shares.
And investors of Watlington Waterworks Ltd. traded 106 shares pushing up the price $1.25 to $9.
Investors of KeyTech Ltd. ? the parent company of Logic, BTC and Mobility ? traded 91,900 shares at an unchanged price of $10.25. Masters Ltd. saw 500 shares trade at an unchanged price of $12.
