The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 19.61 yesterday to close at 3,849.01.

On an active day of trading Butterfield Bank rose 40 cents to close at $46.50 as investors traded 831 shares. Masters Limited rose 25 cents to close at $16.25 on volume of 5,000 shares.

Belco Holdings declined five cents to close at $40.35 on volume of 800 shares and Devonshire Industries traded in 1,200 shares to remain unchanged at $14.25.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $169,234.10 and the overall volume of shares was 7,831 shares.
