Four off as Colts cruise through

In the space of 15 minutes early in the second half this FA Cup semi-final at BAA Field produced four goals and four red cards as defending champions Devonshire Colts reached their third straight FA final.

The second half just about summed up the type of season it has been for relegated Rangers who had college student and national team player Rohaan Simons amongst the ejections as frustration set in.

At the half it was close, with Colts only leading by captain Shannon Burgess's goal, a spectacular hooked effort after Aljame Zuill headed a corner back into the goal area.

Rangers were unlucky not to be a man short moments earlier when last defender Sam Tucker knocked Zuill off his feet as he tried to get through. Tucker, who had already been booked, escaped a second caution as Richard Knight gave him an end-of-season break.

But that would be Rangers' last break as that free kick resulted in the corner which produced the goal.

Six minutes into the second half it was 2-0 to Colts when Marvin Belboda sent in a low hard cross from the left which the diving Clevon Hill missed and the ball hit defender Ryan Belboda's legs before going into goal.

Goals came regularly after that as the threatening Marvin Belboda was given too much space inside the box in the 56th minute and unselfishly passed to substitute Ricky Saltus who tucked the ball into the bottom corner.

Aljame Zuill side-footed against the cross two minutes later and from the resulting corner he scored from close range to make it 4-0.

Simons was ejected on the hour when he was sent off for a bad tackle on Wayne Henry. Before play restarted Rangers' Janeiro Tucker and Nathan Samuels of Colts were also seeing red for an off-the-ball scuffle which Knight spotted.

Kwame Tucker then went for swearing at the referee.

Colts scored another when Belboda placed a downward header into the far bottom corner in the 66th minute.

Rangers finally scored in the 79th minute when Russell converted a penalty after Sheridan Ming had been fouled by Burgess.

North Village 5 Southampton 4 The Crystal Palace semi-final also produced a flurry of goals as Village led 2-0 at the half, trailed 4-2 midway through the second half, before scoring three more in the space of seven minutes.

Dion Stovell and Shaki Simmons netted for Village in the first half before Rangers scored four unanswered goals in the second half through Damon Swan, Keimon Simmons and Niedel Swan (2) to lead 4-2.

But Village were not finished and netted three more themselves through Domico Coddington, Jason Dill (penalty) and Coddington again to seal a memorable win.
