First Division round-up
St. George's 2
Southampton Rangers 1
St. George's kept pace at the top of the table with fellow East Enders St. David's by taking maximum points from visiting Southampton Rangers in this hard-fought contest at Wellington Oval yesterday.
St. David's and St. George's now each have 10 points from four games.
St. George's, who were held to a scoreless draw with X Roads in their previous match, showed more bite up front this time around with goals coming from Kuma Smith and young Jeron Dickinson.
The score was even 1-1 at the interval.
St.David's 4 Somerset Eagles 2
St.David's emerged victorious in the battle of the blue and gold at Lords.
Early strikes from Jamal Lovell and Otis Minors put Warriors in firm command until Darrin Dowling netted the first of his two goals shortly after the break to jolt his team back into contention.
However, St.David's distanced themselves and increased their lead through Angelo Cannonier's spot kick and a Dejaun Paynter insurance tally before Dowling converted his second of the match.
Wolves 3 X Roads 2
Two strikes from Tarik Hall and another from Vince Minors brought X Roads' unbeaten win streak to a grinding halt at the Den.
Khomeini Talbot put X Roads ahead after 30 minutes but their joy was short-lived as Hall equalised seconds later.
X Roads regained the lead just before the half through Divon Rogers.
However, Hall drew Wolves level for the second time in the match in the 39th minute before the ever-reliable Minors put the match beyond X Roads' reach, at the same time knocking them off the top of the standings.
Paget 2 Prospect 0
A Dion Stovell strike and an own goal by Antoine Daniels separated the two teams at Police Field.
Stovell scored after just 20 seconds and ‘keeper Kuhn Evans saved a Marvin Belboda penalty before Daniels put through his own net after the break.
