Group B on Saturday, each with contrasting wins.

Leaping from third to first were Exiles as they crushed a seven-man Coca-Cola outfit 6-2 at Shelly Bay. Antoine Cannonier struck a hat-trick, Edwin Ford scored twice while Marvin Hassan tallied once.

For Coke, who actually led at one stage, Anthony Francis and Johnny Adams each got on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Rams were made to struggle against home side Somerset Extros, but in the end a first-half goal by Denton Gibbons stood up for a 1-0 triumph.

The remaining Group B game saw Devonshire Colts All-Stars blast Prison Officers 7-2 with eight different players finding the back of the net.

Jeff Richardson led All-Stars' charge, netting twice while Dennis Nesbitt, Earl Godfrey, Jimmy Tweed, Eugene Ball and Larry Benjamin assisted with one apiece. Rodney Woolridge and Kenny Butterfield replied for the Officers.

There was no such drama in Group A as Forties became the latest in a line of sacrificial lambs for runaway league leaders BAA Wanderers.

Wanderers won 3-1 with Tony Lambert twice on target and Richard Correia once.

Derek Patience scored in the second half for Forties, who dropped from second to fourth with the loss.

Leading marksman Des Minors scored twice, but missed a vital penalty for Robin Hood and his side came out 6-4 losers to KPMG Peat Marwick.

Even so, KPMG fully deserved their first league victory and Gary Knight certainly proved his worth doubling his season tally with a hat-trick. Grant Sousa, Stuart Drake and new boy John Latham rounded out their scoring.

Other than Minors, Peter Slater and Colin Alexander scored for Hood.

Lobster Pot took care of bottom team Fire Services 3-1 with Pot's Simon Turner scoring his fourth goal in two matches and aided by one from Martin Lane.

For Fire Services, Robert Dill managed to find the net.

Island Rangers won by default over Spinning Wheel when their opponents refused to take the field with only seven team members present.

In Alliance Division action, PHC extended their lead in Group A to two points when they defeated Devonshire Cougars while second-placed Dandy Town were held to a draw by Boulevard.

The Zebras rode the tails of a Mark Simons tally to a 1-0 victory against a game Cougars outfit.

Boulevard were in a similar unyielding mood as they fought to a 1-1 result with Town at St. John's field. Stevie Wade struck paydirt for Town and Vincent Tuzo did likewise for the visitors.

At Bernard Park, Somerset failed to capitalise on the slip by Town and surrendered a chance to move into second place as they drew 3-3 with North Village.

Rahji Edness, Paul Simmons and Dean Bean all played a part in the Village scoring. Somerset were helped by an own goal by Village as well as one each by Amal Thomas and Derek Robinson.

Another close battle had St. David's edging Prospect 2-1 on a double strike by Jerry Laws. DeForest Evans responded for the losers.

The day's other match up never materialised as Devonshire Colts failed to show for their match against Hamilton Parish.
