November 12, 19 and 26 at the Princess Hotel, Pembroke.

The programme comprises two modules designed primarily for newly appointed staff working in insurance.

The second module is considered to be suitable for established staff who are moving into fields of insurance work, said BII director Mr. Ian Linnegan. Cost for the whole programme is $350, excluding discounts.

On November 25, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., the BII is holding a seminar on "The Actuary and Insurance'', also at the Princess Hotel, Pembroke.

Course speakers will include Mr. Douglas J. Collins, Ms Christiane M. Allaire, Mr. Ralph L. Rathjen and Mr. Pierre A. Samson, who are all consulting actuaries with Tillinghast (Bermuda).

The half-day course will provide practical advice of actuarial work products and will stress what the non-actuary should look for and understand as a user of actuarial work products.

The aim of the course is "to increase the understanding of property/casualty actuarial reports and the actuary's role in insurance pricing and reserving''.
