Benson Hodgson, of Pearman's Hill, yesterday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing cannabis on January 4.

Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Police were on patrol on Palmetto Road in Pembroke when they spotted Hodgson drop a plastic bag onto the ground.

Sgt. Mouchette said the officers retrieved the bag and found the cannabis inside.

At the time of the incident Hodgson told Police: "It's weed for my personal use.'' And yesterday Hodgson told Senior Magistrate Will Francis: "What can I say sir. I'm sorry it happened.'' Mr. Francis ordered Hodgson to pay a $1,000 fine for possessing the drug.
