Husband admits he assaulted his wife
Hamilton Parish man who admitted beating up his wife.
Mr. Francis decided not to sentence 28-year-old Darin Caisey, of Harlem Heights, until he learned more about the situation between the couple.
Prosecutor Anthony Mouchette told the court that Caisey and his wife of six years had been at a wedding where Caisey felt that she had been ignoring him.
Upon leaving the wedding they went to Caisey's mother's house on Serpentine Road, Pembroke where his wife, Margaret, told him that their relationship was over.
Caisey then slapped her, knocking her to the ground, before kicking and punching her.
Sgt. Mouchette said Caisey left the scene and Police were called.
Mrs. Caisey was escorted to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she received medical care, including stitches to her bottom lip.
On Tuesday, Mr. Francis released Caisey on $800 bail and ordered Caisey to return to court for sentencing on August 28.
But Mr. Francis stressed Caisey must not make any contact with his estranged wife and that this was "a very firm condition of bail''.
