from the "Down to Earth'' store on Reid Street.

Carlos Astwood, 31, of Midland Heights, admitted the offence in Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said that on May 31 Astwood went into the store, purchased some drinks and was seen putting the pills in his pocket.

Police were called and arrested Astwood who apologised and offered to pay for the pills.

The pills were worth $32.65. Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp fined Astwood $120.
