and cannabis.

A Supreme Court jury deliberated for two hours before convicting her. She was also found guilty of importing and possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

Although he was prepared to sentence her yesterday, Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr.

Justice Ground accepted defence submissions that he adjourn the matter until a social inquiry report is prepared.

Her lawyers, Jamaican QC Mr. Frank Phipps and Mr. Edward Bailey, are reviewing the matter and consideration is being given to an appeal.

Mr. Bailey said he would advise his client of her options in the next few days.

Webb, 27, of White Hill, Sandys Parish was convicted of using US Base personnel and their post office boxes to import the drugs.

Narcotics officers seized one package that contained 459 grams of cocaine which had an 82 percent purity and a street value of $145,750 and 863 grams of cannabis with a street value of $43,150 -- a total value of $188,900.

Government analyst Dr. Alan Young said the quantity of cocaine was enough for 1,166 half gram wraps.

Last week Oswald Farrel testified how the Navy prosecuted and convicted him for importing drugs into Bermuda. He served only six months for the charge after being granted immunity for testifying against Webb.

He also said that he was arrested at the airport on September 24, 1993 after he was leaving on an early morning New York flight to take money Webb gave him for drugs.

Farrel added that on October 11, 1993, he received a package in his mail box on the Base which contained Webb's drugs.

After Police and a special Base agent confronted him, Farrel agreed to help them to "prevent drugs from coming into the Island,'' and agreed to testify against Webb.

Co-conspirator Carl C. Storey, who was a US Navy communication technician, admitted conspiring with Webb to import drugs. He was sentenced to five years in the Navy prison after a US court martial on the Base.

He pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana, conspiracy to import illegal drugs into Bermuda, wrongfully soliciting another service member, and disobeying the orders of a commanding officer by misusing a post office box.

But because he gave evidence against Webb and Farrel, Storey was granted immunity and served only 15 months in prison.

Webb will be sentenced on May 9. Mr. Khamisi Tokunbo appeared for the Crown.
