Internship programme students to present report today

The Summer Internship Program?s 12 Bermudian summer interns today will reveal their plan for the Bermuda chapter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

At a luncheon this afternoon, the students will present their findings and recommendations from a review of the Boys and Girls Clubs that they have conducted over the ten-week internship sponsored by the ACE Group, Bank of Bermuda and Deloitte.

The objective of the Summer Internship Program (SIP), according to a Press release, is to provide students with a unique learning opportunity that introduces them to the many diverse aspects of the international business sector and enables them to be better positioned to make sound career choices.

Students dedicated one day of each week to working on a community service project designed to encourage team building and leadership skills.

They developed a strategic plan for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bermuda (BGC), which has clubs at three government-funded youth centres in Sandys, St. George?s and Hamilton. BCG has developed since its inception in 1998 to adapt traditional BCG of America activities and games to make them culturally and socially relevant to the Island.
