Employers and the self-employed who have not completed their Employment Survey have a grace period until October 24 to do so.

Government's Department of Communication and Information (DCI) yesterday announced some forms had still not been returned despite the deadline passing on September 29.

"We can understand that some employers may not have been able to complete the forms because of the attention to the aftermath of Hurricane Fabian," said Acting Chief Statistician Steven Holdipp.

"However, we have given them this grace period and we want them to realise that we still need the information as soon as possible.

"Those who are having difficulty completing the forms can come to our office or call us and our staff will be only too pleased to help them."

The Statistics Act 2002 makes it mandatory for employers to respond to the survey. Government needs the information to maintain a sound database on all jobs in Bermuda, with Government and the business community relying on accurate employment statistics to guide business decisions and future planning.

Employers were asked in August to give information on their employment profile as it was during the week of August 31-September 6.
