Union offers aid
The Bermuda Industrial Union have offered to funnel funds toward the relief effort after Tuesday's terrorist attacks in the US. People can make donations at the BIU headquarters in Union Street.
BIU president Derrick Burgess said: "We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of victims of the tragedy in New York and Washington. We are asking people to continue to pray for those families. Many, many workers lost their lives in this tragedy - workers at their desks, workers in the rescue missions, they have families they leave behind.
"The general council of the BIU decided last night to set up a fund at the Credit union so people can make donations."
Callers can drop off money between 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the BIU or the Credit Union offices. For details call 292-0044.
