Last week's power outage has put Trimingham's final closing date in limbo with management poised to announce tomorrow whether the store will shut for good as planned on Saturday or extend its sales into next week.
Trimingham's closed its remaining satellite stores in Dockyard on Tuesday and had previously informed staff in the main Hamilton store that their final day would be this Saturday. However, company lawyer Wendell Hollis said that the power outage, which forced the closure of the store for three days last week, has made a difference, and management is now deciding whether a few more selling days are necessary to clear out the stock. Some staff have already agreed to work the extra days if the store remains open.
