Trump fans plan Bermuda 'victory' cruise

Stand by your man: Trump supporters insisting Donald Trump won the presidential election plan to take a ’victory’ cruise to Bermuda in April (Picture from The Patriot Voice)

Supporters of ousted US President Donald Trump plan a ’victory’ cruise to Bermuda, despite last month’s loss to challenger Joe Biden, The Royal Gazette can reveal.

The organiser of the four-day trip runs a website called The Patriot Voice.

The trip was billed as a “For God & Country Victory Cruise” from New York to Bermuda between April 17 and 21.

The cruise group has steamed ahead despite Monday’s, declaration by the United States electoral college that Mr Biden, a Democrat, would be the 46th president of the US.

But the pro-Trump commentator, who uses 17Anon John on Twitter, announced a “nautical adventure with fellow patriots, celebrating the re-election of our Commander-in-Chief, president Donald J. Trump, as well as General Flynn's freedom”.

Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, a former national security adviser to the Trump administration, pleaded guilty to involvement in Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election.

General Flynn was pardoned last month by Mr Trump, who will leave the White House next month.

The general was among the people who maintained Mr Trump had won the November 3 election, despite a convincing Biden victory.

The ’victory’ cruise on the Norwegian Joy is scheduled to moor for one day at Dockyard.

Marine and Ports said the ship was booked for Heritage Wharf on April 19.

Covid-19 scuppered cruises to the island just after the beginning of the 2020 season.

But it is hoped the island will welcome its first ship of the 2021 season, the Carnival Pride, on April 7.

Mr Trump’s prolific Tweets, a presidential hallmark since his 2016 victory against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, are featured on The Patriot Voice’s Twitter feed – including his claims that he triumphed over Mr Biden.

But the president’s continued claims of voter fraud were flagged by Twitter as “disputed”.

The Patriot Voice admitted he had been “heavily censored” online.

But the unrepentant blogger added: “I’ve seen too many great Patriot Truthers be taken out due to the power that unjustly lies in the hands of big tech.”

The cruise site is linked to a series of posts from QAnon John, the right-wing online movement that alleged a global conspiracy against Mr Trump.

QAnon became notorious on social media in 2017 as “Q”, and circulated bizarre claims against Trump opponents that ranged from Satanism to paedophilia.

Guest speakers and entertainment planned for the cruise include Juanita Broaddrick, who in 1999 accused then-president Bill Clinton, Democrat, of a sex assault on her when he was Attorney-General in Arkansas.

George Papadoupolos, another early member of Mr Trump’s foreign policy team who was arrested and jailed as part of the FBI inquiry into Russian involvement in the 2016 election, was also said to be booked as a speaker.

Mr Papadoupolos published Deep State Target: How I Got Caught in the Crosshairs of the Plot to Bring Down president Trump in 2019 after a brief stint in federal prison.

Another speaker, Zak Paine, was said to be “suppressed, deleted, banned for life and generally shunned by mainstream platforms”.

Entertainers on board include Florida singer JT Wilde.

A spokeswoman for Lee Rizzuto, the US Consul to Bermuda appointed by Mr Trump in May, declined to comment last night.

But she said he may have a response today.

Mr Rizzuto, a New York businessman, was a prominent backer of the 2016 Trump campaign.

His appointment to the Consul’s role in Bermuda sparked protests after he arrived.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority did not respond to a request for comment.
