King films at BNG today

In honour of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr?s birthday, the Bermuda National Gallery will be showing two films back-to-back throughout the day. Bermuda National Gallery education officer Judy Wong said they will be showing ?I Have a Dream? and ?Our Friend Martin?.

The films will kick off at 9.20 a.m. and the last showing will finish at 3.25 p.m.

Ms Wong said BNG has been showing the film of the famous ?I Have a Dream? speech for many years in honour of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. She added: ?This year we?ve added a new film into the mix, ?Our Friend Martin?.

?This is a longer, animated film, one hour, compared to ?I Have a Dream?, which is 30 minutes long. ?Our Friend Martin? is for our younger audiences. It?s a fantastic film that starts as a routine project for a class and then turns into a time travel adventure.

?It makes children see the consequences of one man?s actions and helps them understand that their actions have consequences too.?
