Argus announces new management appointments

New appointments: Alex Cabe, Lynne Woolridge and Beverley Bentley-Webb

The Argus Group announced three new appointments to its senior management team. Lynne Woolridge joins the company as head of International Life, Beverley Bentley-Webb has been appointed head of Human Resources and Alex Cabe takes on the role of investment manager.“We are pleased to be adding further talent to the senior management team and I welcome Lynne, Beverley and Alex to the Argus family,” said Alison Hill, CEO of the Argus Group. “They each bring valuable experience and expertise to their individual roles, which will help us to meet the expectations of our clients and to drive business forward.”In her new role at Argus, Mrs Woolridge will be responsible for the overall management of the Group’s International Life insurance and annuity operations and Bermuda Life Insurance operations.Mrs Woolridge has over 15 years’ senior managerial experience in the insurance industry. She joins Argus from Redbridge Re in Coral Gables, Florida, where she held the position of chief reinsurance director. Prior to that she was senior vice-president of the Life, Health and Pensions Division at BF&M Insurance Ltd in Bermuda and she has also worked in Canada for Swiss Re Life & Health, Mercantile and General Reinsurance Company and Canadian General Life Insurance. Mrs Woolridge was also appointed as a Government senator in December 2012.As head of Human Resources, Mrs Bentley-Webb will provide practical support, direction and advice to management and staff on HR services, policies and programmes for the company. She will also manage the daily operation of the HR department.Mrs Bentley-Webb was previously Human Resources relationship manager for HSBC Bermuda. She has also held human resources-related positions at the University of Glamorgan, Cardiff City Football Club, the Equal Opportunities Commission and The Open University in the UK. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and the Bermuda Human Resources Association.In this newly created position, Mr Cabe will actively drive the adoption, continuous development and improvement of all investment management practices and processes required to support the Argus Group’s investment portfolios. Working with the Investment Committee at Argus, he will manage all of the company’s investment assets and ensure compliance. Additionally, Mr Cabe will oversee the investment manager relationships, regularly monitor performance and client needs and generate new investment products to suit the needs of Argus and its clients.Mr Cabe joins Argus from McKinsey and Company in New York, where he held the position of Investment Operations manager. He previously worked for Thomson Reuters in Newark, New Jersey, as a senior research analyst. Mr Cabe earned an MBA in Financial Management from Lubin School of Business, Pace University, New York. He was awarded the CFA charter and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Bermuda.
