Man charged with growing cannabis
A 21-year-old man accused of cultivating 249 cannabis plants for sale has appeared in Magistrates? Court.
Dion Sheldon Pitcher, 21, of Chapel of Ease Road, St. David?s, was charged with growing cannabis on June 23.
Pitcher was also charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply as well as intentionally obstructing Det. Con. Llewellyn Edwards at the same date and time.
In addition to 249 cannabis plants, Pitcher is charged with possessing a plethora of drug equipment on the same date, including two hydroponic growing systems, two intense light lamps, one green plastic tub, four bottles of plant nutrition, organic sponges, one bag of fertiliser, a water filter, one waterproof testing kit, a pH control kit, a calculator, one black tool kit, five hydroponic plant growing magazines, an Internet printout pertaining to hydroponic plant growth and 19 clear plastic bags.
Pitcher was not required to submit a plea as the offences are indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court.
Magistrate Juan Wolffe released Pitcher on $3,000 bail to appear for mention on November 2.
