But he heaped special praise on The Royal Gazette for its "absolutely brilliant front page'' on Monday.

In the context of the coverage of the so-called Miami Seven, he called Monday's story, "outstanding and very well done''.

"Congratulations for choosing to put a very fine story on the front page,'' he said.

In other congratulations and condolences, Sen. Gary Pitman (UBP) also congratulated the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Sales Marketing Association International for Saturday's Street Festival.

The Bermuda International Business Association and Mr. Cummings Zuill received praise from Sen. Lynda Milligan-Whyte for its Bermuda Briefing -- the first marketing event of its kind in London to promote Bermuda's business sector.

Senate President the Hon. Arnold Jackson reminded Bermudians of the significance of Commonwealth Day.

The Commonwealth which emerged out of the British Empire was a "family of nations'' united in friendship and committed to sharing "joys and sorrows, wealth and poverty''.

He said the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association gave legislators from all over the world the opportunity to share their concerns.
