Hot for the shot
The Hamilton Health Clinic has been flooded with people requesting flu shots since it began the service on Monday.
The vaccine is being offered at clinics and in doctors' offices for $10 and will be available "for as long as people want it", said Health Department senior medical officer Brenda Davidson.
The Hamilton Health Clinic on Victoria Street had 75 people come in for the shot on Monday and Tuesday mornings. "When you consider that it's several minutes for each shot ... that's quite a lot of work," said Dr. Davidson, adding that they had to bring in an extra nurse. "So we're delighted."
The vaccine will also be on sale at the Somerset Health Centre this morning from 8.30 to 11.30 a.m., and was on sale in St. George's on Monday morning.
And people can also see their doctor for the flu shot.
