Botanical Gardens project

Experienced consultants are being invited by the Parks Department to tender for a utility surveying project at the Botanical Gardens. Park Planner Drew Pettit said the purpose of the survey was to identify what water, electricity and sewage utilities existed and how they could be improved.

Another purpose of the survey was to look at ways the gardens could provide proper lighting for evening entertainment events.

?We are looking for a plan which can lay what exists and what can be improved. This is not a topographical survey, we need a method we can use to diversify the grounds and to help us provide a better service to visitors to the gardens,? said Mr. Pettit. The request for quotation will be available from today at the Parks Department. Completed tenders will be received by September 30.
