Shellee was going to college
Shellee Smith, 18, died after her motorcycle crashed with a taxi on South Road in Smith's in September 2005.
Miss Looby said: "I had known her since high school. We got really close the last year she was alive. Every lunchtime we were together riding around, rain or shine, I would do her hair for her photoshoots, all those types of things.
"I was in Bolivia at the time. I knew something was wrong when my mom rang. All she said was: 'It's Shellee.' That's where it really hits you. You are accustomed to losing people on the roads. I didn't even have to ask.
"She was on her way to school in Bermuda College. There has been no inquest yet, but from what witnesses say she wasn't speeding — it had been raining and she hit a slippery spot in the road. From what I know, she hit a taxi. It could be anybody. She was never the type to ride crazy. We were always on the bike together. I remember only once getting into a near accident, and that was because the car in front of us stopped short."
