Amesty appoints new coordinator

She replaced Ms Charma Yuill this month.
Ms Ostroff will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all campaigns for the group which rallies for the release of political prisoners around the world.
"I'm enthusiastic about the job,'' Ms Ostroff said. "I hope to increase membership as we campaign for the freedom of others.'' She said the local group, in January, will launch a project that will deal with religious prosecutions.
And Ms Ostroff said she hopes local churches will help.
Amnesty International's campaign table is set up in the Walk Way, near the Body Shop in Hamilton, every Friday between 12.30 and 1.30 p.m.
Those interested in sending letters or Christmas cards to political prisoners around the world can do so at that location.
