Summer flight from Halifax announced
summer for the first time.
Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge welcomed the news saying the service would offer connections to travellers from all major airports in Atlantic Canada and London.
"Not only will this allow direct access to Atlantic Canada for Bermudians, but it will strengthen the Tourism Department's efforts to promote Bermuda as a vacation destination for Canadians and Europeans,'' he said.
The non-stop Halifax-Bermuda flight run from February to June.
Currently it departs Bermuda every Saturday, however, beginning June 26 flights will depart on Fridays at 3.25 p.m. and arrive in Halifax -- a prime gateway to Canada -- at 6 p.m. Air Canada manager Mr. Ian Davis said the number of travellers using the flight for on-going connections is growing.
