Driver in fatal crash appears for mention

A man charged with causing the death of 19-year-old Troylisha Outerbridge appeared in Magistrates Court yesterday for mention.

Tarik White, 23, of Hamilton Parish is also charged with dangerous driving and causing actual bodily harm to passengers, Jeron Douglas, Jelani Hollis, and Tashae Bean in relation to a road traffic accident which killed Ms Outerbridge.

The charges against White are indictable and he will not enter a plea until he appears in Supreme Court.

Yesterday, however, Crown counsel Shade Subair asked for an additional two weeks to serve papers in the matter.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves set a December 17 date for mention.

The fatal car crash took place in the early hours of March 7 on North Shore Road near Shelly Bay field. Ms Outerbride was pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital at 4.30 a.m. that morning.

Passengers Douglas, Hollis and Bean sustained minor injuries in the crash while the defendant sustained a broken rib and lung injury.
